Pediatric fever, trauma, CPR, and nailbeds.
Thank you to those who came out to our first Journal Club of the year, it was extremely well attended. This month we will be doing a joint Journal Club with our Pediatric colleagues at CHKD. The topics covered range the gamut, and I believe especially for those of us who rarely see children will be extremely informative. That said, some are quite long, so buckle in beforehand to try to get the articles read in whole.
Dr. Huth will be discussing a recent practice guideline on pediatric fever.
Dr. Tomlinson will be discussing nail bed lacerations in children and whether the age old practice of sewing on the nail is necessary/helpful.
Dr. Gurrola will do a validation study of the PECARN rule on abdominal and head trauma.
Dr. Stegall will be reviewing an inpatient study on the association between breaks in CPR and mortality.
